Lake of Eros
LAKE OF EROS
Like Orpheus' body torn apart and scattered in different places among trees, plants and bushes,Where his dazzling flesh lies open under the sky,
The blue eyes remain closed in a dream opened between the eyelashes ,
Amidst death and decay that define the boundary of a mortal world imprisoned in flesh,
The rocks and wood, birds and insects, flowers and herbs, carry the imprints of the resurrection of his body in the earthly sphere.
As in the shore of Lesbos,
In the shore where the blue sea washes his blood and brings fragrance of flowers and roses,
In heart's murmur,
In plaintive melody,
This mind floats in the water streaming towards the spring where the singing swans float as the swans seeking the domain of Apollo in verses and proses.
In the sphere of the sky where the emptiness is resplendent within itself,
In the murmuring water the poetic mind swims in radiance,
The ethereal abyss carry the shining light's reticence,
The quivering wind on the serrated leaves,
Bending against the sky dreams about the silvery rings spotted with paraselenes,
In the dazzling circles' silvery quivers,
Like crystalline micas' luminous shivers,
The shining water , in viscous rhythms, serenely chants,
Like in the opal's ballad in the bracelet where the restless mirages of the light scintillate and dance,
A luminous monstrance in a processional altar holds my eyes towards the glory of the sun.
As innumerable arrows of rays dart through the brain,
In a dreamy world where the quivering light veils the eyes and binds the sight in liquid-bonds of light vibrating in chains,
I see Eros clothed in light,
Disappearing on the lake leaving His iridescent remains.
