nymph
Nymphs in the Forest
They are the daughters of the earth, born of moisture, warmth and heat,
They carry the flames of life that shoot out of the seeds.
The flowers and twigs are their bracelets ,
Their eyes are born of the petals with restless gleams,
Their breasts are flanked with slender streams,
Where flow life's eternal poetic themes.
Flinging the arms in joy they dance with rays and beams,
In light and shadow they surround the nature in dancing rings.
In the dawn when the Zephyrus comes with its dew strewn wings,
They caress the hearts with the lips of rainbows turning the earth as a dream.
They are the dancing fairy maidens in frenzy of love,
When all sleep in the dark,
Wearing the starry light as wreaths around their heads, they dance in the hearts .
They are the dream-like nymphs who scatter in the dreams the moonlit silvery dusts ,
Wearing the robes decorated with the moon and the stars ,
They join the dance of light over the twinkling grass, the springing flowers, the singing meadows,
In the winding lute-notes passing over the shining pebbles scattering silence in dreaming hearts,
In the purple tomb of flesh and blood,
They sing the songs of night,
The songs of light,
The songs of death and birth.
In the moonlit webs,
Where the creatures of the earth crawl in dreams in search of beauty and love,
In twinkling notes of the stars,
In the serene chime of Eos rising out of the dark,
Spreading the colours of heart's burning hearth,
With words, colours ,and sounds they wake the poets, the musicians and the creators of arts.
In the shore where death is life,
And life is death's another mask,
Like roses bursting in lust,
They caress the eyes in morning sky's pinkish bashful blush.
In the ballad of beauty and love,
As the moon swings from the darkened night to the dawn's quivering silvery dewdrops spattering the notes of dream on the silent grass,
Throwing off the veils of the night ,
They open in the robes, in which man sleeps in the dark,
The beauty of flesh and blood.
